TSF2 Tailings Pond Gold Recovery

TSF2 Tailings Pond Gold Recovery

Recall that gold fines from Shorelines Aggregate Wash plant were stored in this tailings Pond late in 2023.
Previously, I have estimated that this tailings Pond would contain 30,000 to 40,000 ounces of very fine gold discharged in the residual gurry from the Pine Cove mill.

Being 6 times heavier than quartz, these gold fines would be at the bottom of the Tailings Pond in a discrete layer probably less than 1 foot thick.

In the link below which shows TSF2 tailings pond, you can see that this high grade area has been barriered and separated from the deeper portion of TSF2.

Inside that Dam, you can see several stratified barriers probably zones of different grades or distribution .
You can also see what is presumably the mill discharge pipeline going into the tailings pond beneath the road......and that the mill is very close to the tailings Pond

It would seem to a rank amateur like me that the area inside the barrier dam could be suction pumped to a holding tank near the mill and then run through a gravity circuit to recover the gold fines which can then be processed to gold dore by the Pine Cove mill.

This would augment the gravity recovery of gold fines from Shorelines wash plant.
Nice also to see that they have brought in a professional reclaiming company to advise and assist them in these matters.

In summary, the MAE team is having good scrounging success in identifying and converting to early cash flows gold assets that exist and can be cheaply recovered near the Pine Cove mill.

With a POG over $3000 cad per ounce , we have lots of wind beneath our wings to see very robust early cash flows and incrementally so once HD begins production.

This will reduce equity dilution and also provide funds to accelerate the development of the HD mine towards 75,000 -100,000 ounces of production beginning in 2025.
