MEDIPATTERN VASCULAR TECHNOLOGY MATCHES GOLD STANDARD IN BLINDED STUDY

The Medipattern Corp. congratulates authors Dr. Daniel Gurell, MD, and Dr. Marc Prager, MD, for their work comparing Visualize:Vascular with magnetic resonance angiography (MRA). Their study shows that Visualize:Vascular's 3-D luminal ultrasound visualization correlates well with MRA in a paper slated for presentation this coming weekend during the 2012 annual meeting of the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound (SRU), which is a subcommittee of the American College of Radiology. The blinded study uses the results of ultrasound scans from 100 consecutive carotid arteries. Qualifying cases were further evaluated using MRA. Results were then compared between the two technologies. A correlation of 99 per cent (p less than 0.05) was found between the two imaging technologies. The results are statistically significant. Angiography is considered to be the gold standard in evaluating arterial integrity.
