No choice

If and when B2Gold goes under 3$ I'll have to liquidate here.
ill have a better opportunity of getting my $$$ back

Maybe, BTO let's you get in and out faster. MKO should rerate when the dividends start which is probably in the next 12 months assuming the gold price can stop going down. I think your comment characterizes most of the selling we see in MKO. It tends to sell off when other gold stocks are up and the average gold investor gets frustrated and eventually will chase performance. When gold ...more

True!! Most are reactionary for sure but I can't be one of only a few buying. Resources do run out eventually. It would be nice to not see continuous 52 week lows. It's undervalued now is it not? You

I am to the point where I don't care about the stock price.  Don't get me wrong, I do want to see the share price eventually go up, but I think we have a couple of bad economic years ahead of us.  If the share price goes to a nickle it only gives us faithful shareholders a chance to accumulate more.  Who cares if new shareholders step in at these prices.  Akiba should ...more

Talk about a sentiment check! 2 years ago I was criticized for not doing enough marketing.   I do agree with you that traditional marketing is a waste of time at this point.  Although I think beaver creek is a particularly good conference for the < billion MC company, and it was a nice mix of buy/sell side and corporate.  But the the minor miner conferences are silly at this ...more

Akiba Ive been constantly adding to my position almost weekly. People criticize the share price but yet they've sold themselves. What do they expect?? If I had more support on the BUY side it would be welcomed indeed. Patience will prevail. Anyone one of our devoted CEO posters, stock house etc should be adding up at these levels. Question is are they? Or do they sit back and just ...more

Epic, this drop in share price from 43c to 20c is not a few Private Investors selling that has caused this drop, we have had constant selling for the last 12months and apart from Akiba and Wexford buying we have had NO demand for MKO shares to take up any overhang. Now we have a weak Gold price which doesn't help and if i remenber correctly we have a loan note from Sailfish with a repayment of ...more

Question is why? Why are people selling Barry? Cant be just the gold price. Gold will rebound soon enough.
Comment by Method on Sep 20, 2022 10:48pm
The amount of selling as a percentage of the float is minuscule. Our real problem is no buying. Maybe that will change with the up list or consolidation. I think it definitely changes with a dividend.
Comment by stkstroker on Sep 21, 2022 10:24am
If we consolidate too early and in these market conditions our $2.00 stock will drift down to a $1.00. I think a dividend is a ways out.  Let's deal with the fundimentals first.  Let's follow and back Akiba's plan. Clean up the debt, expolre and expand resources, expand San Albino to 1000 TPD.  Once accomplished, let's consolidate and talk a healthy dividend to the ...more

stkstroker, I agree with your post, consolidating now would be a disaster at this price point. Clear debt, 1000tpa mine, exploration programme, not worried about a dividend, i never enter a share for dividends but that is just me, i'm sure many would want a dividend asap especially Wexford and Akiba..
Comment by barrywhit on Sep 21, 2022 12:45pm
Whats more worrying is we at present don't even have any takers at 0.195c..so even the larger holders aren't buying at these levels.....

Guess I'll wait until .10 and load up 1-2 million shares

That's my plan
Comment by AkibaLeisman on Sep 21, 2022 8:26pm
The consolidation will happen shortly.  I agree that the first order of business is the plan, which is to get rid of the debt to make sure the path to 1000tpd is unencumbered, and then dividends can follow.  1000tpd is not just the 4m in direct capex.  It's also additional surface acquisitions, and of course A LOT of drilling to make sure we have sufficient resources to mine ...more

I think my biggest frustration with the stock is that information doesn't flow through the stock.  If the stock went up a lot on good exploration results and then went down a lot because our Q2 recoveries were 74.5% instead of 84-86%, that would be normal.  If it went up/down 1.5-2x the daily move in gold, that also would be normal. But since last year I've stopped ...more

With some of the phrases being used lately like 'other opportunities';.....after consolodation...will there be a raise of capital/expansion/ more shares issued (dilution)  to sieze these 'opportunites' that come across your desk..? This was done with Marlin, then Mako...so looking back to predict where this is going forward...is this a fair statement? Might explain why the ...more

It's important that you remember the history with Marlin.  the mine didn't work.  It happens, and LOTS of lessons were learned from that.  We fired the CEO for cause (I took over as interim in 2015, and Jesse was brought in to stabilize things).  So the vast majority of the post 2015 capital raises were to keep the lights on so that we could eventually facilitate the ...more

sure it would be nice if the gold price goes back above 1750 but the additional cost of gold loan is hardly material. Have we really had a lot of selling? If you add up all of the volume over the past 12 months, what percentage of the float is it? How does that compare to members of the GDXJ? If we had some traders in our shares, our shares would be a lot higher just from the ...more

I have just listened to Akiba's presentation he gave at the Precious Metals Summit and i have to say he is a very good speaker and if i was at the Conference i would be interested in buying into MAKO... So what is stopping any New Investors from taking a stake in MAKO...answers on a postcard please...
