Copyright is a category of intellectual property that applies to the ownership of ‘authored’ works. Copyright protects this intellectual property from being used by a third party without the permission of the owner/author of the works.

In today’s world, there is ever-increasing access to all sorts of information on the internet. Most authored works on the internet are protected by copyright. If you copy and paste these works without permission or without citing the original author and source, then you are likely violating copyright.

If someone makes a credible claim that a body of work has been pasted and used on our site, then that post will be removed. Persistent copyright infringement will lead to the suspension of the member's ability to post on Stockhouse.

Guidelines

  • If you paste someone else’s authored work (including images or media), make sure you have the right to copy that work; i.e., you have permission or permission is granted at the source
  • f you cite someone’s authored work, then you should cite the author and source material
