Just south of our Tunblegum mine which is the southern portion of our Gabanintha concession Star of the East recently ( 2023 ) discovered high grade gold in their Tumblegum South Project including copper.
A google search of our historic Tumblegum mine has produced these results..
"Located one kilometre south of the old Gabanintha townsite, now possibly swallowed by the northern section of the modern Gabanintha Gold Mine. Mineralisation in a vertical or steep east dipping shear. Workings down to 91 metres deep, covered a 400 metre length, of cupriferous quartz-limonite veins in a zone 0.9-1.5 metres wide.
Early mining is not described by Marston, but states that tailings were treated 1955-1962, producing 4967 tonnes of cupreous ore at 3.09% Cu."
So, if the tailings had 3.09 % copper, the head grade must have been above 6% copper, even at just 50% recovery .
That is an amazing grade of copper.
Note that our Yagagong mine has significant copper which was confirmed by the few holes drilled in 2022.
Now, going back to Tumble.
In our 2021 exploration report, it was reported that they had discovered the tailings dump from the historic Tumblegum mine.
Grab sampling of these tailings averaged 1.79 grams per ton which, it was reported, could be used to cheaply start up the Burnakura mill.
I recall looking at this in the misty past, and figured that the dump could contain perhaps 15,000 ounces or more.....and that the original grades would have been quite high.
So, everything is coming together quite nicely for our Murchison Project
