RE: Pices Finally rising
RE: Pices Finally rising I think that one should not get too excited about a momentary narrowing. The Pegasus pipeline break has an influence on the differential and that is temporary. Turnaround for some refineries and paving season is upon us, so that too will impact shorter term. But the $17 differential 'normalization' will remain the narrow target zone, one that we may see less and less.
As for the provincial treasury, yes, there may be some joy but there remains prorationing at a lot of pipeline terminals. That foreshadows continual difficulties medium term until such time as the forecast dramatic increase in rail car availability becomes reality. Even the rail cars wont be able to handle the forecast volume increases due between now and 2015.
