Old woods roads cover a good portion of the projected route. Substantial upgrading is required. However, even if the cost of the required road was to double or triple the numbers suggested by rockcliffe, pre production capital costs it would be substantially less than the 261 million dollars estimated pre production capital costs.
Well, I'm sure that 261 million dollars would buy the trucks needed and cover road construction and maintenance. There is strong possibility that the provincial government would assist with construction of the road. The province of New Brunswick is pro mining and is anxious to promote economic activity in economically depressed area of northern N.B. Therefore, the development of this project merits serious attention for the reasons mentioned above.
Once the road is built, this open pit resource is ready to be shipped to and existing concentrator. Additionally, there is no requirement for a tailings dam to be built as one already approved exists. So, no lengthily environment studies, reduced capital costs etc. all positive for the active mining to begin.
