The Director of Contracts plays a critical role in our ability to achieve our goals by creating and maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers and negotiating contracts. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of the Contracting Office, as well as overseeing procurement of all materials, services, and equipment required for successful contract performance to our customers. You will manage and lead a team of contracting and purchasing professionals, you will be responsible for contract close-out, extension and renewal, and you will communicate contractual changes to all stakeholders. We count on our Director of Contracts to resolve any contract-related issues that come up, whether internally or externally. Job Duties:
- Maintain accurate and current GSA Schedules and DLA Contracts that represents Unifire’s full product and services offerings and approved third party items.
- Responsible for negotiation of GSA Schedule 51V, Schedule 84, and Schedule 78 to include MAS consolidation and DLA TLSP SOE contracts that is aligned with Unifire’s business strategy.
- Responsible for contractual response to GSA Schedule 51V, Schedule 84, and Schedule 78 contracts and DLA TLSP SOE Contracts solicitation to ensure all Unifire business segments are included and represented in accordance with Unifire business controls and GSA/DLA solicitation guidelines.
- Review contracts prior to Company officials signing
- Manage record keeping for all contract-related correspondence and documentation
- Provide contract-related issue resolution, both internally and externally
- Contract administration by monitoring and completing contract close-out, extension or renewal, as appropriate
- Advisor to management regarding any contract-related issues and plan for resolution to mitigate risk and loss of sales for Unifire.
- Resource to other contracts personnel and organizations for contract related questions.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of contractual obligations, compliance obligations, and business needs and take necessary steps to ensure all are met.
- Stay current with GSA procurement changes and trends impacting GSA.
- Maintain and submit new products to our GSA schedule.
- Manage the procurement of all materials, services, and equipment required for successful contract performance to our customers
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required,
- Minimum of fifteen years progressive responsibility with quantifiable results in contract negotiation, administration and/or management
- Knowledge and experience of the FAR and DFARS (and understanding contract terms and conditions)
- Demonstrated negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Excel in multitasking and handling several assignments concurrently
- Robust skills in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint,
- Ability to meet project objectives within designated constraints
- Demonstrated ability to understand the financial aspects of contracts and other business arrangements
- Exhibit critical thinking skills
