RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:PPE a distraction Well, they (your sources) are not as bad as could possibly be expected (no Breitbard, Fox or worse, at least), but may I conclude that, in general, you don't like socialism?
For ~240 euro monthly total , we (2off) have full health insurance, which includes anything from an aspirin to open heart surgery.
Cimzia costs 740 euro/kit of two shots and is included in insurance, so it's 100% free for the patient. In USA:
"The cost for cimzia subcutaneous kit 200 mg is around $4,844 for a supply of 1 kits, depending on the pharmacy you visit. Prices are for cash paying customers only."
Got myself a stent for free ;-), they fixed my broken leg for free.
Not in France, but when I return to my native country, I can even die for free, at the time that I feel suits me best. France of course is not a socialist country. However, like many European states we have a system that makes sure (?, sometimes a bit doubtful) that no one suffers too much and that all (maybe better, most) people get fairly cheap health insurance and state old age pension, while minimum wages are ensured for a max. 40 hour week.
Sure, we pay a lot of income tax (progressive up to >50% for very large incomes) and sales tax (21%), but who's counting when life is good and one has few worries.
The yellow vest movement was a popular one at the start. It came about through some stiff fuelprice increases. Totally understandable and acceptable. It was however quickly hijacked by leftist activists, who started to make a mess of things, sounds familiar?, just like these days in your fine country.
Having worked years in Europe, years in Africa, years in Asia (yes, also China, but short time) and years in USA (everytime, multiple years), I have come to the conclusion that living in Europe does have advantages over any of these other places.
Though Dutch by origin, France is, for me, the best place to live. If I do have to make a ranking, sorry, but USA would come last place.
At nearly 70 years of age (7-14, feel free to congratulate me on the day), I'm having a wonderful and carefree time.
Wish the same for you,
have fun.
