Massive upside

This stock has massive upside and is extremely undervalued compared to industry peers. The company is finally on the right track, the acquisition of the Microsoft segment really increased its TAM. All analysts covering the stock agree that just that business with its Mitel business in its current state, the company's intrinsic value is worth double the current SP. The important catalysts will be the upcoming earnings over the summer. It just has to show its continued growth in the Microsoft DEM segment. News about new partners is certainly positive, but it also needs to back it up with concrete numbers and the SP will readjust upward. It's just a matter of time. With small cap stocks like MTLO, it doesn't take much volume for prices to move aggressively in one direction upon key catalysts. I understand the pain of investors holding this stock at a high average price and the impatience. In terms of timing though, I feel that it's reaching a turning point. The current SP is extremely attractive now for new positions. Good luck to all. This is not financial advice, do your own due diligence!

Analysts covering this stock are horrendous... please explain why they have downgraded the price over the last 2 years every time if this is such a spectacular opportunity. Don't get me wrong I would like to agree with you but this has 0 eyes on it at the moment and don't think the financials willl be anything special this summer as well. Management is not serving in shareholders' best ...more

While I agree that equity research reports can be subjective, the analysts covering MTLO were actually pretty good and knowledgeable. It's always good to also do a due diligence on them before taking any of their research seriously. I've read a fair share of research reports from David Kwan (formely PI Financial) over the last few years on some of the other tech stocks that he covers. He& ...more

I beg to differ... Although nobody "expects" the results to be mind blowing... Us 3 year bag holders do expect something from these scumbags

I understand your impatience, having held this for so long. Brighter days are ahead though. There was very little potential in their old legacy businesses, so the stock had limited upside prior to their last acquisition. The Microsoft DEM acquisition and integration over the past year is actually worth looking forward to. It's this segment that has all the upside and can increase the company ...more

i sure hope you're correct. This has been a major disappointment. What do u have to say about the CEO and the grossly overpaid management team? They have definitely not earned those salaries thus far. Their performance has been less than pathetic
Comment by JackBNimble26 on Jun 02, 2021 7:35pm
unfortunately we have discussed this several times and still nothing changes. The compensation should be cut for all non operational staff by at least half with the second half being provided in the form of options. Don't you get the feeling at MTLO management is a lot like the LEAFS? I mean we have these expectations (called performance). Management is well paid and let's now look at the ...more

If I just look at the CEO's pay in pure dollar value, it's actually within industry average. Median annual salary for a CEO of a company size valued between $50M and $100M is ~$417,500. Another metric is that it should not exceed 5% of the company's revenues, which does not in his case. Now his performance is another story. All eyes will be on the numbers and growth in the Microsoft ...more

it's clear that you have not been around this stock very long based on those comments on the ceo. The guy is a useless piece of trash who should have been fired years ago. As long as that idiot is at the helm, we are all fukd
Comment by baystreetpenny on Jun 03, 2021 10:55am
Just out of curiosity, at what price and when did you buy in? I understand your frustration if you held for years and looking at the SP now. I don't know him too well, aside from seeing that prior to becoming Martello's CEO, he worked as a VP at CGI from 2011-2017. I do like Terry Matthews' interests and involvement in the company though. He's a reputable, seasoned business man ...more

You have invested partly for the same reason as I did - trusting that a company led by Matthews and Linton is a formula for success. It has not been, many "no names" for lack of a better term have done infinitely better. Last PP not much better than when they got listed several years ago. To be able to actually compare their metrics to the industry and say they are undervalued by maybe a ...more

Bruce Linton is a joke, that guy is a loser. He got turfed from his own company as soon as constellation took over. They knew he was no good. And stick around for a little while and you'll see the truth about proctor. That guy is a goof. They are all buddies, with way over paid salaries they don't deserve, just fleecing investors .
Comment by steevee84 on Jun 03, 2021 11:58am
that goof Linton actually called me last December , talking about how embarassed he is with the company and that he'd be taking a more active role by being in the office two days a week , what has that goof done since then?? Fuk all nothing
Comment by Mikeyrob on Jun 03, 2021 12:39pm
We need his name gone from this company. He is a loser
Comment by baystreetpenny on Jun 03, 2021 6:56pm
I'm assuming that a lot of you bought the stock during the early days solely based on Bruce's name and fame at the time. If we look at the fundamentals at that time, their portfolio still consisted of only legacy businesses without upside that could justify such a high valuation (it even hit over a dollar a share on two occasions). The Savision and Mitel segments provided steady and high ...more

I really do appreciate your input baystreetpenny. You seem to have good insights. And yes maybe a good part of my investing here was because of the names involved and their abilities to grow companies. I was and still am a beginner investor and jumped the gun on this one. As to your question earlier , I'm avg about 39 cents. Being around here for so long, seeing no results has just worn thin.
Comment by PatiencePays123 on Jun 04, 2021 9:40am
Steve, have you emailed or called Linton recently on all our behalf to ask what is the plan to fix the stock?
Comment by steevee84 on Jun 04, 2021 9:44am
Patiences.. I have not got a response from him or any other management member since that call. I've emailed a few times asking them to address the SP issue. Doesn't sit well when they all stop responding to investor emails.. any one else has any luck?

Have you tried reaching out though?
Comment by Mikeyrob on Jun 04, 2021 10:36am
yes, my question was bumped to some 3rd party company
Comment by PatiencePays123 on Jun 04, 2021 11:02am
I think the silence means the board of directors have probably given Proctor until the end of the year or so to fix the stock valuation before they give up and sell the company. One would think there would be tons of interested parties at how deep value it is trading in the context of the growing revenue outlook.
Comment by Mikeyrob on Jun 04, 2021 11:11am
Hard to estimate whats going on at all in that crappy building in Kanata Ontario. Just sell this junk to thousand eyes and lets move on. It will not be at a significant premium either
Comment by PatiencePays123 on Jun 04, 2021 11:18am
If Terry Matthews is so pleased at how the company is performing why doesn't he take mtlo private for 35 cents a share? Let's see how pleased he really is. Pony up some serious capital and make most of us whole and move on.
Comment by Mikeyrob on Jun 04, 2021 11:30am
Matthews has done enough... its th erest of this board and management team that is useless. Proctor needs to go... and quick! Overstayed his welcome... please vote your shares

I don't disagree and think if this happens and they replace him with someone from industry with a heavy pocketbook of clients and investors, it could be really good and refreshing for the stock. You would think if Linton told steve on the phone in the winter how embarrased he is and stuff, that they would have started the process to find a new ceo back then. How long do executive searches ...more

@steevee Glad to read that your average is only .39. I know it's been frustrating holding this for so long, but on a positive note, you are in a much better situation as they now actually have a business to build on with their latest move. The opportunity will be there for you to at least break-even as the SP readjusts to reflect the company's fundamental value and get a return on ...more

There is no color lipstick that will improve the insider share ownership. The board is large, they are well paid compared to your typical TSX-V company. Most hold no shares. Proctor makes a lot of money. He is not a credible voice to speak about share valuation when effectively his ownership consist of in the money risk-free options. He will of course exercise them but the key test will be whether ...more

That's a sober assessment a little bit hard to swallow for the shareholders tired at lookingbat a stock languishig so long between 17 and 22 cents. I guess if I reflect on this story, the MTLO going public is a little backward compared to other IPOs in that they came in with offerings that effectively have seen their better days and the future was bleak. So, the early investors had to be ...more

Well written. They have made the right moves to position themselves for growth and now its all about execution and results. With results will come increased valuaiton and the SP increases we are looking for.

I wouldn't say they have made the right moves at all.... they gave up on the Elfiq channel which if anyone looked is doing extrememly well. Moved away from Blackberry which again has made great strides as well as its cohorts. Expenses keep climbing, offering after offering for extremmely low capital, outrageous salries to boast with a lucritive board. At this point it would not surprise me if ...more

I might add that Proctor, who owns less than $20,000 in shares, does not scream confidence in this company. Wait and see continues... extrememly worried about the expenses this quarter.
Comment by canyousayiii on Jun 02, 2021 8:10pm
To the other posters' point, as we said, the top exec and board compensation is very heavy and unjustified for its current size...maybe cutting half a mill into EBITDA and cashflow which is significant. Over the past few years, in some of my other investments, when building blocks were put in place, CEO started marketing the company at many investment conferences as well as reaching out on his ...more
