Progress of Exploration Work

Progress of Exploration WorkNORTHERN MINING Explorations Ltd.: New Gold Anomalies in the Tulawaka Area MONTREAL, QUEBEC--NORTHERN MINING Explorations Ltd. (Explorations MINIERES du NORD - "MDN") is pleased to report on the progress of exploration work at its own portfolio of mineral properties in Tanzania. So far, two areas with gold anomalies have been delineated. These areas show coincident copper and arsenic anomalies and appear to be related to targets previously identified from structural interpretation of geophysical programs. MDN plans to follow up these anomalies immediately and bring them to a sufficiently detailed stage for a drilling program by mid-year. MDN has assembled a Tanzanian portfolio consisting of 17 Prospecting Licences covering a total of approximately 862 km2 immediately adjacent to the Tulawaka project, where a gold mine is currently under construction. During 2003, geochemical surveys have been carried out over seven of these licences where little or no previous exploration work had been done. Target areas in each property have been covered by soil geochemical surveys, consisting of sampling on lines 800 m apart with sample stations at 100 m intervals, using manual augers. This soil geochemical technique is the same as that used in the orientation surveys that have already proved so efficient at discovering Tulawaka-type deposits in the area. A total of 3,770 samples, including quality control samples, have been submitted for analysis to the ALS-Chemex facilities in Mwanza, Tanzania and Perth, Australia. The sampling program is being directly supervised under a service contract by Stanley Robinson, P. Geo., the Exploration Manager of Lakota Resources, and by MDN geologist Brian Lloyd, P. Geo., both Qualified Persons for the purposes of NI 43-101. MDN is a Montreal-based Canadian exploration company which holds a 30% interest in the Tulawaka gold project which is currently under construction, a majority interest in 17 adjacent licenses in Tanzania, a majority interest in four properties in Eritrea, and other gold and base metal exploration interests in Quebec, Canada. -30- FOR FURTHER INFORMATION PLEASE CONTACT: NORTHERN MINING Explorations Ltd.
