Many years ago, when I went to university - deludely thinking that this would solve a host of problems - what I began to notice (and this only compounded itself over the next four years) was this group of young professors, all very bright, trying their damndest to get Tenure (the Get of Jail card in Universtydom...guaranteed employment forever...a disgusting concept in reality!). Anyway, quite fascinated, I watched this on-going train wreck...and all the cliches..."publish or perish" etc.were in play! Now this was really the education...why you would never ever want to be part of this game? I am not - or ever have been - a university prof, as much as they offered!
Anyway, itsjustme, to cut a long story short...what was the real import of the story that I have just told? Why...as soon as those involved - and actually got tenure - what was the first thing that happened after the realized that they were now "home-free" in terms of employment?
They got bored...all those incredibly bright minds...and ultimately they began to attack everyone around them...out of sheer boredom! It was a brutal scenario, even from the sidelines.
So, with all due respect, it seems, after now many years of quietly watching the bull-boards for many companies...that we are no different! All those bright minds...turning on themselves when they get bored...such a waste!
So don't be moaning about seemingly aberrant OT posting on this board...it could always be much worse! People here still seem, for the most part, to like each other.
I wish you the best,
