Longs and shorts

Longs and shortsMost investors buy a stock and then sell it at a later date.  This is called going long.

Some investors borrow a stock from a brokerage and then sell it on the condition that they replace it on demand.  This is called going short.  The shorter wants the stock to go down so their replacement cost will be less than their sale price.

Shorters hire trolls to spread lies, misinformation, disinformation, rumor and slander in an attempt to drive the share price down.  There is no shortage of shorter trolls on this forum.  They can recognized by their constant negativity.  Do they actually drive the share prtice down?  I am not convinced but they do a very good job at annoying legitimate shareholders trying to use this forum.

NFG is a gold explorer and as such it will go up and down with market tides until it becomes a miner or is bought up.  It has one of the biggest gold discoveries in Canada this decade.  It is well financed and well supported.

How low will the share price go before one of the big boys make an offer?  They aren't stupid!
