Yep definitely one of the best gold discoveries I've ever been apart of for sure. The grade is absolutely mind blowing and over 25 meters is crazy!!! I thought the last hole was spectacular with 17 meters of 124 g/t but 146 g/t over 25 meters is unbelievable. This is a once in a lifetime gold discovery. There are no words to describe it.

Mega I am still feeling dumbfounded then you said... This is a once in a lifetime gold discovery. There are no words to describe it I was think you and I could facetime with the Greek Guy and you could teach us a few verses of Driver McGyver to get our creative juices  flowing. Is it snow yet out by the cabin yet? More that I think of it this thing is going to be beyond compare. There ...more

"This is a once in a lifetime gold discovery".  There's certainly no question that their drill results to date have been absolutely amazing. In less than a year, they've transformed from an IPO to an $11 stock. Their market cap has gone from about $176.5M to $1.64B. And yet, they're well ahead of the pace of progress for the Fosterville discovery.  At that time ...more

There is a lot of talk here in Newfoundland and this discovery is being described as a Voiseys Bay worth of gold!!! Certainly not there yet for in the ground metal value but could be approaching tens of billions of dollars of in the ground metal value within a year or two on NFG's Queensway property. Definitely blue sky potential for all companies involved around this discovery ...more

The announcement was made pretty late in the day. Next week should be interesting once the market has absorbed the news. Anyone know how many drill holes NFG are drilling in total vs how many done to date. This thing is shaping up as a monster
Comment by megacopper on May 22, 2021 2:21am
They have roughly 200 holes drilled with plans to drill 1500 holes it total as part of their 200 000 meter fully funded drill program. 7 drills on site hoping to get to ten shortly and talks of increasing to 16 drills eventually. NFG has in excess of 75 million in cash and securities. The zones they are intersecting are on the Queensway North property along the Appleton fault. The fault ...more

Really appreciate the summary. This must be the find of the new millennium. Less than 20% of their drilling program completed. Imagine coming up with monthly results even a quarter of the most recent one for the next 12 months. Definitely  a hold

Yes it is an incredible high grade gold discovery. Everything changed in early March. Go check out the March 16th news release. Two days later Eric Sprott started to invest heavily in NFG and all the juniors around them and he hasn't stopped. I guess in his mind he had decided at that point this is Fosterville 2.0 and he was going all in. He has been investing and buying continuously ...more

Thanks MegaCopper, very reasonable conclusions. I find the facts that you cite vis-a-vis the comnparison to KL very, very interesting. For those who don't get it, KL is mining at 1,000 meters deep, and NFG is finding all their bonanza intercepts at about 300 meters. That means NFG can mine using the OPEN PIT method (read about 1/4 cheaper in AISC than what KL has to pay). To me, that is a ...more

The comparison to Aurelian is a poor one because it's in a different country and Kinross and the Equador govt basically stole that deposit. It was shameful what went on there with that entire situation. I think Eric Sprott got shafted big time on a financing done up in the 30 dollar range on ARU if I remember correctly. Probably why he hardly invests in foreign countries anymore ...more

Back in the early nineties, Aeriquipa in South America made a big discovery and just after reporting results from thier sixth hole, Barrick came in and made a buyout offer in the billion $ range. Big bucks back then. Every one in the industry thought Peter Munk had lost his marbles. Well, his bold move was proven correct and it became a Barrick major mine for a long long time after. We are in a ...more

"Just a thought" ????? Bwahahahaha! Yeah, you got me thinking all right! Maybe QH has a card up his sleave vis-a-vis Maritime Resources - maybe some kind of merger, giving them mostly shares of NFG (as opposed to cash). Our proprietary knowledge and the geological model NFG is building would be helpful to them too? I think I heard QH point out specifically in a recent interview that ...more

I agree that it would create the most value for NFG shareholders to put Queensway into production themselves. I listened to Quinton Hennigh talking about that mill and he seemed excited and I was thinking he might have something up his sleeve. NFG could put a crusher on site and truck high grade rock up to that mill or even use a ship based out of Lewisporte (only 20 min drive away from ...more

" ..... start making money fast without spending much ....." I like these words. I'm a layman and don't know enough about the mining aspects, but it sounds like a winner to me - even if we have to spend 5 years building our own mill in the meantime so we can up the production.
