Big money is made in the exploration phrase

Been away for a couple of days enjoying the great outdoors looking for mushrooms. Found some nice gypsies which is another choice edible that rivals the boletes. It's a rainy  day in the Gander area so I'm catching up reading all the recent great posts. This board is by far one of the better ones I've had the pleasure of being associated with. Thanks to everyone for the great information and remaining on subject.

I believe that the big money, as with all exploration companies, is made during the exploration phrase. Those who bought NFG for $1.50 August 2020 and sold at the yearly high of $13.50 have already enjoyed a huge return. No one knows what the eventual buy out will be or when. If Queensway turns out anything like Voisey's Bay the reward will be many times the current share price. I began following the Voisey's Bay story when Diamond Fields was $4.00 a share. In the end it sold for the equivalent of $172.00 a share. And the buy out came rather quickly. It did not take 10 years to happen and I don't think NFG will either. As to the nature of the buy out, whether it will be all of Queensway or individual packages, only time will tell. My feeling is that it will be sold in packages and there will be many packages over the years as drilling discovers more rich zones.

So the game plan is to make money during the exploration phrase. A mine is something I do not spend time thinking about. Dividends of mining companies are not all that great anyway. Banks, telecoms and utilities all pay a larger dividend rate. Our own Newfoundland based Fortis pays about a 5% rate. If I'm fortunate and get a huge return from my investment in NFG  it will go into a bank, utility or telecom.

Wajac...nice post. I guess I am just into breaking norms as far as exploration to mining and believe this find can very well do that and send Lassonde curve a curveball or contorted line that looks funny. This find is a total freak of nature and we end up belonging to the Rhinosarus Party of Canada (They are trying to repeal the law of gravity) before it is over. I really do not think we will ...more

DanWarren I give you post of the day honors. Well thought out and so many issues. You bring a new vision of becoming a major ourselves in the long run and for those that have followed QH for sometime like me a vision for the long game in a turbulent  world where some regard electronic blimps that can be erased by a EMP or a sunspot permanently as value. I declare that this is a monster in the making

We got monsters in our backyard but the only one I am concerned about is Godzilla. About the Monsters For as long as Okanaganites can remember, Lake Okanagan has been said to be haunted by the presence of a Loch-Ness-like lake creature. Can such a formidable beast possibly be lurking in our waters? Is Ogopogo real? Can there truly be such a bonafide living creature? We said “…naaah” ...more

You need to look at my posts in contexts.  From the beginning, I have suggested that NFG not dispose of the property right away and to stay in exploration mode as long as possible.  If they were inclined to sell, I suggested splitting off the Keats-Lotto piece and then use the proceeds to explore the remainder of the property.  But my overall preference is to just keep exploring and ...more

Great post as always snidely but the problem I see with a major in  on the Keats they will expect or write an option to mine the rest if  they so wish which would shut down any possibility of a bidding war. Far fetched I know but I guess I still see my GTT stock as getting  underbid to their true value although it had Newcrest in for a small stake but by management got low ...more

Then don't sell it to them, but that single claim is 1,250 hectare covering 3km of Appleton strike and has Keats-Lotto plus even includes Big Dave.  It constitutes less than 1% of NFG total land package, but there is enough blue sky in just that claim alone for tempt a major.  But if not, fine - then keep exploring and making new finds.

Agreed but have seen have to go below 200m or maybe total depth to figuire out if we are  neo Godzilla or Godzilla. IKE

Dan, with all due respect I think you are a perfect example of the negative consequences of thinking outside the box. American comedian, Bill Burr, said the problem with reading stuff on the internet is that you have no idea whether you are reading fact or fiction. He said at least if you go to a library books are classified as to whether they are fiction or non-fiction.
