Interpretation

Both the Lotto and Golden Joint main veins are ~2 m thick Quartz veins with a background gold content of ~2 g/tonne.  Where these veins intersect other fluid conduits the gold content skyrockets.  Defining these high grade gold subzones within the greater gold zones is a company priority.  The structure is very complex.

Greywacke is an unsorted marine sandstone.  The greywacke layer (light grey) is acting as some sort of structual control for gold deposition along this part of the Appleton fault.

At this stage it is impossible to make any kind of guesses as to the gold resources of Golen Joint and Lotto.  The high grade gold intercepts are far too scattered.  There are lots of background intercepts in today's press release.

There is every reason to believe that there lots of undiscovered gold zones along the Keates-Kotto baseline fault and other related structures (a total strike length several times that of the AFZ).  They are now systematically drilling this area to see what they see.  They are in a very prospective area!

Good post, Retiredgeo.  Yes, the area is highly prospective for gold, but indeed complex.  Golden Joint appears to be taking on a vertical orientation so far, differing from Keats.  I don't know anything about Fosterville and the Swan Zone, but I wonder if they had abundant low-grade gold all around narrow zones as well. Now I know why it took so long to get these results out.& ...more

Fosterville was averaging 4-5 g/tonne for many years until they started to hit the Swan zone at depth.  Just because the APZ is an orogenic gold system doesn't mean everything is going to be high grade.  NFG has to find the high grade gold zones among the background values.  We know that they are there, buried underneath overburden and with weak geophysical signatures.  ...more

I remain totally overwhelmed and still digesting this news release. Busy day today so will be quiet until later today. I have not said WOW so many times in a news release yet this year ramifications are so huge yet I myself knew Golden Joint and Lotto  would be the next Keats but when it proves up it still is amazing. Gotta look at Sunday zone ...Melissa Render rocks. IKE
