RE:Mining claims boom in QuebecNot to worry GripnRip.
We know that the Lac des Illes has been the only operating (although, to be fair, not all the time) graphite mine within Quebec, Canada and North America for the last 30 years and we also know that articles written are now mentioning Lac des Illes and Northern Graphite more frequently.
By the way, Quebec governments are no stranger to environmental controversy.
After all, you'll recall that some time ago ago the entire town of Malartic, in Northwestern Quebec, was moved to a newly constructed subdivision two hours north.
Should graphite be slated to become, as has been suggested, the "new gold", at the very least NGC won't have to move an entire town so as to establish an open pit mine.
We know that the Lac des Illes mine already exists and that said graphite mining project has been fully permitted for more than 30 years.
