Biased ArticleThe previously mentioned biased article doesn’t cite any source and, even though every Salar has some kind of flamingo population, only attempts to discredit NLC. The Ramsar Convention is only for wetlands, as stated in the previously linked article, does not apply to the desert that is the 3Q project. You can view a list of Ramsar protected wetlands here:

The author also tries to refute the PEA saying, without any samples himself, saying that the red coloring must be due to an iron supply even though red salt lakes are a well known phenomenon that occur elsewhere.

 All mines have some kind of ecological impact and that is always true. It is just easier to go after the junior miners because they aren’t in production yet. Companies like SQM deal with similar issues. There should be a push for all companies to handle the flamingo population with care and make an actual attempt to leave the surrounding better off. We will get more information from the environmental report but here is an article about some of the flamingos:
