New Design Could Enable Longer Lasting, More Powerful Lithiu

New Design Could Enable Longer Lasting, More Powerful Lithium-Ion Batteries -- By David L. Chandler, Massachusetts Institute of Technologyon -- Mar 26, 2021 -- Excerpt: Use of a novel electrolyte could allow ADVANCED METAL ELECTRODES and higher voltages, boosting capacity and cycle life. Lithium-ion batteries have made possible the lightweight electronic devices whose portability we now take for granted, as well as the rapid expansion of electric vehicle production. But researchers around the world are continuing to push limits to achieve ever-greater energy densities the amount of energy that can be stored in a given mass of material in order to improve the performance of existing devices and potentially enable new applications such as long-range drones and robots. -- https://scitechdaily.com/new-design-could-enable-longer-lasting-more-powerful-lithium-ion-batteries/

Add in some share dilution, a stupid amount of money spent to build a plant that will be obsolete soon....run don't walk away from this company "One promising approach is the use of metal electrodes in place of the conventional graphite"

Electrodes will remain by far the largest application for synthetic graphite, but demand for natural graphite in batteries could exceed that from refractories by almost three times by 2030. Total graphite demand to grow around 5 to 6 percent per year over the next 10 years.

Don't think so...everyone is playing with silicon, solid state, metal anodes, synthetic graphite....sooner or later graphite will not be needed at all so why bet on a future like this with a graphite player that is years from production from a very expensive project?  Stick with lithium and copper the two can't lose metals. Steer clear of this hyped up future failure

Even if you are right.... in the next decade or lil sooner for high-end vhicule only... NOU doesn't necessarily need to use Graphite for they're anode plant!, they have R&D partnership with hydro-Quebec! They can come up with they're own nano formula and load up on silicon right in QC  Graphite can be sell in other market next decade to.

The global graphite electrode market is projected to grow at a healthy rate over the next five years to reach US$ 15.3 billion in 2024.
