Pumping the Muppets

NXO has always been superb at creating an exciting story that captures the imagination and great at hyping the stock.  Unfortunately, what they consistently deliver is a big zero.

Management gets free shares and cheap warrants, warrants get repriced to make sure important investors and insiders are kept happy and rich, while faithful retail investors (aka the Muppets) are left holding the bag.   This is the sad part: The people responsible for the failures, losses, and pain don’t suffer consequences.  It’s the retail investor that always pays for it all.

Here are just a few promotions from 2017 designed to pump up the investors.  Those who have been around a while will remember these promotions.   Paul McKenzie (NXO founder & CEO in 2017 and NXO CEO today) Stephen Petranek (NXO director in 2017 and NXO director today) are hyping the NXO lens technology.   While watching these stories, remember that this lens technology earned zero revenue, was discredited as impractical, and written off as worthless.

BTV (first 5 minutes is about NXO):

Couple of stories on Global News:

The above are just few examples.  Watching these “stories”, don’t you want to invest in this technology?  Aren’t they great a creating hype?   Greatest breakthrough in the field of optics since Galileo!   Wow!!!   Amazing!!!  Don’t you want to buy the stock?  Then 2 years of waiting for some sort of contract with cell phone manufacturers that never came and stock down by 90%.

Still not convinced?  Have a look at this interview with Paul McKenzie in 2019 on a German investor show pumping the stock.  This time he is talking about DoubleTake.   The whole thing is over 20 minutes, but one interesting point: At around 4 minutes and 30 seconds Paul talks about schedule.  He says they want it manufactured and available to consumers by Christmas.  Remember, this was in 2019, before COVID ever became an issue.  Also remember that to this day DoubleTake has not sold a single unit.   Here is the video:

The above is just a small sample of the hype this company created, and these guys (minus Daugelas) are still running the company today.  It is important not to forget history.  To assume that “this time it’s different” is a dangerous assumption.    A good story is the only thing NXO has ever produced, and their stock is the only thing they ever sold.  It may seem a harsh assessment, but this is a fact…not an opinion.

No matter how the current story with ALIIS plays out, at least let us all agree that there are reasons for concern.  It's OK to be optimistic and hold a few shares as a bet, but to be so arrogant as to dismiss any skepticism is just foolish.

Tru,  I find it Funny / SAD when Rich G and Paul are pretending to be a real company ....  Quote : This will allow us to provide our customers with ....  ummmm ...what customers ? Why are you wording it as if you have existing customers ?  Quote : We are in a great position and some of our partnerships include the one with Qualcomm and Nvidia .  These are all the ...more

mississauga1:   I agree.  Yes, I am glad you brought up Kevin Gordon, the VP of Tech at NXO.  As part of my due diligence, I read his profile on LinkedIn and I too was shocked that he is a VP.  He has only a B.Sc. in Computer Science, no experience, or credibility.   He is another major red flag for me.     Other companies have research ...more

My Money wasn't given to me because Im a " nice guy "  I worked hard for it and nobody gave me a free penny.  I couldn't care less if Kevin is nice or not. I suggest he is a puppet meant to look good for investors.  Reminds me of RHY or whatever his name was in Investor relations. A real incompetant fellow.  Sorry for being blunt but the Money we lost in ...more

I hate to tack on more negativity, but has anyone done any digging on Daewon Baek? Best I could find was his facebook page that lists his last job with Nuance from 2008-2013 (I don't have facebook, so could not check more). Doesn't list the supposed CEO position with Semicon mentioned in the sept. NR. Searched the Semicon CEO, and his name does not come up in their Korean, or Philippine ...more

1st Sept.announcment re transfer of the Brothers warrents. Did the transfered warrents ever get taken up and the Company recieve payment??
Comment by Truhlik on Dec 14, 2020 11:43am
I believe they expired worthless.  The stock price was way below the warrant’s strike price, so it would not make sense to exercise.

I thought at one stage NXO had a very bright and highly qualified young Asian lady heading the AI advancement. Sorry I cannot remember her name. Is she still onboard?
Comment by Truhlik on Dec 14, 2020 12:56pm
Henryford:  I think you are taking about Yeefang Xiao.  She is an optical scientist with a PhD.  I don’t think she is with NXO any more, because she is not listed on NXO website and her LinkedIn profile says she was with NXO only until March 2020.

Hi Wookie,  I couldn't find much on him either.  Its not negativity, its us trying to find the facts of whats going on with this " company "  If the company was delivering we would all have a different song but they havn't delivered anything for over 10 years now.

Agreed Truhlik. I'm not reinvesting in NXO again until they release news of contracts and revenue. Will I miss out on some cheaper shares? Maybe. But profit is profit. I would warn off any investor looking into this company, only put $$ in at the news. Or between 0.01 - 0.10. then it'd be a good deal

stockmonster6:  Yes, if they can prove the skeptics wrong and manage to eventually get something with $$$ behind it, then that changes everything.  Until then, it is a nice little bet (a lottery ticket), but be careful putting too much money on the line (the insiders are smart enough not to).

Right Nick, always look at both sides and make an informed independent decision base on that knowledge. Those decisions get better as one attains training and experience of course.
