Nordex Explosives Ltd. Announces Appointment of Peter C. Bourgeois to Board of Directors

 

KIRKLAND LAKE, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Jan. 8, 2015) - NORDEX EXPLOSIVES LTD. ("Nordex" or the "Corporation") (TSX VENTURE:NXX) Nordex is pleased to announce that Peter C. Bourgeois has been appointed to the Board of Directors, subject to TSX Venture Exchange ("TSXV") approval. Mr. Bourgeois currently serves as a director and chair of the Board of Circa Enterprises Inc., a publicly traded company listed on the TSXV as well as Tyromer Inc., a privately held company specializing in high-value rubber applications. He has served as a director of the Hudson's Bay Company from 2006 until its sale to NRDC Equity Partners in 2008, and as director and Chair of the Board of Galvanic Applied Sciences Inc., a publicly traded company on the TSXV, from 2007 until it was taken private in 2013, as well as a number of private companies, primarily in the industrial and technology sectors. Mr. Bourgeois was responsible for the packaged explosives division at DuPont Canada Inc. from 1979-1985, during which time he oversaw the aggressive expansion of that division. Following that, he led the expansion of the flooring systems and nylon films businesses at DuPont. From 1989 until 2002, Mr. Bourgeois had operational responsibility for North America with PGI-Fabrene Inc. and PGI-Difco Inc, leading manufacturers of specialty engineered products and high performance industrial textiles.

NXX needs to make another Board appointment.  Given current seemingly acceptable appointment qualifications, let it be known that I played with fire crackers when I was a child. I am sitting by the phone...

I would have no problem supporting you. I am totally confident that you would make a better director than Luciani, Crossgrove or Eaton.

My negative take on Bourgeois should not be construed as Peter not being a superior choice to those you mentioned, withoutbias - couldn't be worse really. What I am saying is that there should be a candidate out there with current and specific market/field knowledge that can help propel us forward. Someone with relevant contacts to today's world - 30 years out-of-the-game does not scream a

Actually, you make a good point. My positive impression of him is based on meeting him some 3 decades ago. And if was such a mover and shaker why did he leave the explosive industry. Also, he helped Dupont to grow explosive business to.... distinction. With your point well made I must retract my previous posting of my "opinion".
