Osisko Metals Incorporated is a Canada-based exploration and development company. Drill results

Hope someone can help me.
Companies report drill results indicating cut and uncut results. I have been trying to find out what those terms mean, and what is the significance of the difference in the results. From what I have been able to read, it seems to be a matter of the geometry of the drill. I find the explanations I have found are too technical for me. I missed the geology class when I was in seminary.
Can anyone either explain the significance of cut and uncut results, or perhaps post a link to a site where it is explained in layman's terms?
