Mill Preformance

Just changing the subject to reflect the thread. Too many RE's lol.

I dont follow your thinking at all on this, as you could have a low feed rate of high grade ore, as opposed to a high rate feed of low gade ore..

If a mill has, say a designed max of 100 tph throughput of raw ore and the grade is at say 1 gram of Gold per Tonne of raw crushed ore, and then if the next ore grade delivery is at say 20 grams per Tonne, you would still get 100 tph of reject waste minus a few grams of Gold.
The system can handle the fluctuations.

The only way a Mill could be choked is if the mine operators have pushed the feed rate from the variable speed feeders under the stock pile to feed the Mill over the said 100 tph limit, and if the past owners were just banking owners, then they might have (in their stupidity) ordered a ramp up of feed to the Mill, hence an inefficient process that just processes mud.

All that is down steam from this Mill, ie physical and chemical separation with cyclones, flotation cells, and chemical circuits would have to cope for good or bad grades that would / should be monitored by the process plant operators in the contol room on site.

There are so many factors on the past owners that I will not even bother to look at, but after a brief look at the unreadable text flow sheets (symbols are fine) all looks good as a mine and process plant.

I have been in the mineral process industry for over 40 years and have also been involved in all of the projects that  your CEO has done from Fiji to Australia, the last being Mineral Hill Gold project in Australia.

He knows Diamonds, Gold and is a electrical engineer, but a poor manager.

I watch from a distance out of interest, but some times one has to clarify issues that are getting out of hand.

I follow your logic but you miss my point entirely, miners always scramble for tonnage during startup and ramp up, grade suffers as a result, sometimes both. Appreciate the candor.

Sorry about that, I thought you were talking about some thing else. I do agree that some existing mines under going an upgrade with the existing plant operators on site do tend to push the system to its limits and beyond. (an experiment on limitations). They do also tend to ignore the contracted commissioning teams request to keep the plant at the parameters that are requied for the proven ...more

Just another point. Brian has always included on all his Gold projects, a smelter and Gold pour facility on site to create the ingots and then stamped for delivery to the nearest bank. Think about that when pondering grades and so forth. The ingots are the product.

Laiva has always poured dore on-site, which would then need to be refined.

Just my opinion, not fact. They are using their mill, which cost a couple hundred million, the same way some people use a home equity loan. If any one raises questions, "how does this remain a going concern?" " If they are able to mine, what is stopping them from mining, right now?" But you see, we have a mill worth $200 million. That gives us a book value worth more than the ...more

I'm glad you said "opinion, not fact". The Mill does not cost $200 Million. If a Ball, Rod or Sag Mill would cost $200 million, then it would be Gold plated. Maybe the whole mine and process plant is what the cost you are talking about ? A brand new Mill of, say, 4.0 to 6.0 metres in diameter would cost from $1.1 to $1.9 million, which includes shipping to site, drive motors, motor ...more

They were feeding a blend of granite and metavolcanics that the grinding circuit wasn't designed for. It will be interesting to see if the CEO can turn this around.

I currently have a small starter position of 100k, but will buy a lot more if they can execute.
