Jaguar to change everything for Guyana To those who still have doubts about Jaguar and without going into too much geologics including the near bye discovery by Shell in 1975, just trace back from the period of time that Guyana's President visited the Rig and was told by the operators (Repsol) about positive results so far - my interpretation is that they most likely already encountered oil on one of the upper zones and the expected news release about the discovery will be similar to how Tullow made their Zaedyus discovery announcement (it came out several weeks after the well had reached total depth). Jaguar is setting up the same way with total depth expected in August and announcement in September (Zaedyus came out on September 9th 2011).
Why do you think the President from since that visit has put into action so many things, including these comments from May alone:
1. May 18th - Repsol company officials made clear distinction between the dry well offshore Cuba and the Guyana well:
Repsol fails in first attempt to find oil off Cuba - "Repsol is also drilling in Guyana, however details of the possible oil find here are still to be made public. However company official have expressed optimism with the Guyana operations." So unlike the Cuban well, they are positive on the Guyana well and of course they would know by now if it is indeed positive:

2. May 17th - Requesting assistance from neighbouring oil producer Trinidad, "Guyana wants T&T oil expert on petroleum advisory body"
"Trinidad has to play a huge role in supporting the development of the oil industry in Guyana, supporting them in terms of services, in terms of people and so on" - you don't just request these type of help now if you are unsure of a discovery (once again, Jaguar has changed everything for this country going forward)

3. May 10th - "Guyana president forecasts boom in petroleum industry"

4. May 7th - "Guyana begins training of oil experts" (The President is quoted as saying "Anticipating a major oil-find in the not too distant future"):
