RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:I do not see a JV for a while yet Exactly, water or gas injection would be secondary recovery methods that would boost recovery factors. Essentially another fluid pushes through the pore space sweeping out some of the last bits of oil that would be left behind otherwise. It's a more expensive operation, but worth it if you can boost recovery 10-20% (as a ballpark number). It does add to development costs. Fortunately, the water depth here isn't anything crazy so costs should be more than manageable, and Liza is set up to be the test case for offset performance anyway.
At this stage the $1bln valuation seems fair given remaining uncertainty. I'll expect some additional price movement once initial volume estimates/evaluation results post wireline come out. Up or down will depend on the results. Gut tells me ultimately this goes up, but there's going to be some price fluctuations up and a down in the meantime. Right now it's traders causing movement in the range we're at now. Huge spike in either direction? That's a leak imo. A buyout or farm out will likely carry a price target per share. So once there is news, the price would likely jump to whatever that valuation is. Again this is just my opinion. I've developed fields not too different, but I've never dealt with the early acquisition side of trying to actually take over from a small operator.
