What was the time between rig arrvial and spud annoucement for Kawa?
Comment by Mat1791 on Jan 20, 2023 10:34am
spud August 22 new release August 23 not sure if this date actually held true but on quick check, Providing an update on operations in Guyana during the announcement of the Frontera’s second quarter 2021 results, the company said on Wednesday that the Discoverer, a sixth-generation semi-submersible drilling rig, is currently en route from Trinidad and is expected at the Kawa-1 location on ...more

Also for reference... Spud announcement share price jumped to 2.26 CDN (was already climbing in anticipation) Then fell to 0.88 by December 15 (delays, fear, rumours) The ran to 3.368 on Feb 1 All closing prices, not intra-day highs or lows Nothing goes up or down in a straight line, most is not manipulation, simply trading, stocks folks not GICs

That's great for reference, thanks! I'd also add that we should be higher than that on this go around given the Port and some form of discovery with Kawa.  My fears with Kawa were that they were just "sampling" 4 different zones.  Totally understand the reasoning for it but still was my fear.  This go around we are dropping a dart right in the middle of what they ...more

"once bitten twice shy" some were perhaps hurt/disappointed/mislead with Kawa speculation for Wei could be a little more cautious or muted??

I would agree. Kawa went from finally after 20 years to ugh...not again.

Lets see if a floor is established going through the Cretaceous. Mm's won't be able to manipulate good results because those in the know will jump on cheap retail shares is my working thesis. Tight hole? Lmao.

Tiger, Just my opinion. People been playing short term expectations on sp and making millions on the volatility. Gotta think long term like you do. For instance, Joe and Jethro had sour, heavy oil. High in sulphur and asphaltene. Asphalt needed to build roads. Sulphur for fertilizers of which most ammonia comes from natural gas taking nitrogen from the atmosphere which is 78% nitrogen, mixing it ...more

As a LT holder of ECO i believe the market over-reacted on the Jethro & Joe news.  Heavy sours are marketable and i understand that ECO believes the crude is produceable due to temperature and pressure. I don't think an investor will need to wait years to see significant returns on ECO as the next catalyst I expect will be the results of the farm out for block 3B/4B which is on trend ...more

Stampeder, Interesting. What's the issue with Tullow?
Comment by Stampeder on Jan 20, 2023 2:19pm
Tullow ran into financial difficulty towards the end of 2019 shifted its focus away from exploration toward their producing assets. Management appears to be risk adverse. As the operator of the Orinduik block they have become a milstone.  We have been waiting for Tullow to either farm out or sell their share but nothing have heard nothing concrete about this.  They may be sitting around ...more

Stampeder, In other words all Eco needs is an injection of money that can tolerate the risk. It'll happen. But when? Eco is a good long term hold but with opportunity cost. But looking at how things are going you won't have to wait long. This planet is running out of energy, asphalt, sulphut etc. Vectors again. People gotta do their own research. Inflation is occuring because of a growing ...more

Jethro and joe were targetting the tertiary.  The next drill is expected to target the cretateous for light crude.  The more we can understand about the geology of the Guyana basin the better.  Hoping that more success will result in more even interest in what's going on in Guyana and the attetion of a major that can take over from Tullow on Orinduik. Tullow may be a good ...more
