It's just a matter of time

I've reassigned myself to having lost my total investment. At less than 9% of its 52 week high, Slyce is doomed to go the way of the DODO bird. The current Bear market will only speed up the process. It's not if, but when Slyce will be delisted.

Delisting from S&P/TSX-V is not driven by low share prices. Delisting will only take place if the company cannot reach break even. I think the chances are good they will.  I don't like the decline of the share prices to the current level either but it's pointless to whine about that. It happened already and anybody who didn't leave the game earlier (like me) can still decide ...more

If the want to reduce costs and grow the company perhaps they should reduce their unjustified salaries.

Waiting for Walmart account. The holy grail.

There is no doubt in my mind the company has talked to/ continues to engage Walmart. This is sheer speculation but all investments in companies that are not profiting are sheer speculation. What I look at is the business climate. Walmart wants to battle Amazon and take some online market share from them. To do this they need to offer customers the easiest, most trendy, and best ways to shop. Some ...more

None of this matters if they don't close the financing.   They just took out an unsecured loan for a million dollars from a major shareholder. Companies don't do that if they are in good economic health.  The technology might be great but the business plan is failing right now because Slyce is burning so much more cash than they bring in. The lifetime value of these ...more

they did not take out a loan for a $1M. They paid him $20,000 for him to sau he would loan it if needed.

So you're saying that it is a good thing that they "might" need a one million dollar loan? I don't understand the distinction. The announcement was important enough that it came with a press release. The main point I was trying to make still holds. They need to close the financing. The "potential" loan is probably in place to give them more time to close the financing. ...more

I don't think it's good they might need a loan, but I do know that it's a huge waste of $20,000 to literally give away for no loan. Antics like that should come directly from directors salaries. The company was not careful enough with the money they had imo. But lesson learned, we will close the financing, and nice try directors, the market has probably guessed how much they are ...more

Well said...I firmly agree.

Look at Sesion (SIO.V) another of Bruce Campbell's picks in fact. Great product and technology but they didn't have enough time to get traction to generate enough cashflow. It was progressing in the right direction but too slow, they weren't able to find investor for another financing so they are in bankrupt process. The CEO provided a loan but to no good. Slyce's technology has ...more

Sensio is a completely different scenario: They had been in operation for 14+ years without ever showing a profit. They changed their game plan multiple times - when something didn't work, they moved on to something else (embedded chip technology to VOD distribution). Disgruntled employees, layoffs to cut costs, no marketing - the writing was on the wall for years.Slyce is only 3 years old and ...more
