RE:RE:RE:I'll take that bet MrpanickMy broker won't short penny stocks and even has a hard time borrowing many other issues. I've heard that IB is much better. Market makers, offshore accounts and other folks can do it. I doubt the other poster is a short though. Probably just a frustrated long. I can understand some shorting of PTA as a hedge to Suroco (which was trading at a slight discount to PTA). Other than that, it's a lousy short. Shorts are generally looking for companies with leveraged balance sheets, the need to raise dilutive equity capital and weak / declining cash flow. PTA is the complete opposite of what you want in a short. If anyone is shorting PTA based on the fundamentals, I'd love to hear what other stocks trading at 1X cash flow they are also shorting.
