The Funds secondary investment objective is capital appreciation The Fund seeks to achieve its investment objectives by investing at least 80% of its managed assets (i.e., net assets plus assets obtained through leverage) in a portfolio of preferred and other income securities issued by U.S. and non-U.S. companies, which may be either exchange-traded or available over-the-counter. In pursuing its investment objectives, the Fund seeks to achieve favorable after-tax returns for its shareholders by seeking to minimize the U.S. federal income tax consequences on income generated by the Fund. There can be no assurance that the Fund will achieve its investment objectives.

Why are all, including Shlinker, sweating? Shouldn't it be good that the management we complain about will be gone? Surely, if the deal does not go through, the management will not change. If another bidder appears, then let it be so. Otherwise, let's move on to the next chapter; either trust that GTE management is better and will create value from PTA assets (they have cash to spend and have a credit facility) or cash in and take losses for tax purposes (if not registered funds). I am in for 200K shares; I am holding; it cannot go any worse. As for management, if there is so much complaining, maybe consider a class action? What will that serve? Stop the GTE deal? GLTA
