In response to the "May never come to fruition", the statement is simply there to protect their asses. This is a forward statement and they can't guarantee anything. This is the same as if you had the winning ticket to the lotto, you still aren't guaranteed to receive the money until you have it. Who knows? You might get hit by a bus on the way to claiming it. 
The fact is, this product isn't fully developed, but its already been adopted by NASA and US military. 
That's huge.
US military being one of the most powerful, who's to say that other countries won't jump on this tech too?
