I lived this scenario with my shares in Opti Canada (TSX-OPC). It filed for bankruptcy last year, then CNOOC successfully made an offer for Opti. They paid shareholders 12 cents per share, which is where the stock was at prior to bankruptcy.
Personally, I have no idea what will happen with Poynt. It is such a mixed bag. Large user base with such potential in a growing market ... BUT ... large debt to creditors, employees, etc that get first dibs on any proceeds from the sale of assets. I am hoping, wishful thinking only, that shareholders will get something. Big loss for me!
