Telecom Lead Europe: Proxama, a provider of near field communications (NFC) mobile commerce solutions, is demonstrating its TagCenter NFC marketing app on the new Nokia Lumia 610 NFC smartphone at WIMA.

"We have been at the forefront of NFC developments for some time now, so we're delighted to be showcasing our TagCenter technology at such a prestigious event, with such a strategically important partner as Nokia. TagCenter and our NFC marketing platform provide handset manufacturers, brands and agencies the opportunity to transition the physical and digital worlds. TagCenter demonstrates the type of experience that can be achieved for the benefit of consumers, retailers, major network operators (MNOs) and handset manufacturers," said Miles Quitmann, managing director of Proxama.

TagCenter will be used to demonstrate Proxama's loyalty card solution that is hosted on Proxama's NFC marketing campaign management platform.

The company said that its unique TagCenter app allows brands and retailers to instantly present a fully branded experience that could include the transfer of coupons or vouchers, video content or social media links.

Furthermore, the app enables them to store a history of tapped content and add to favourites, even when there is no network coverage.

Recently, Nokia announced Orange will be the first operator to offer the Lumia 610 NFC, which can pair with NFC accessories and read NFC tags.

The Lumia 610 NFC has the hardware and software enablers for the implementation of NFC payment and ticketing solutions, and has been certified for contactless payments both with MasterCard PayPass technology, and with Visa's mobile application for payments at the point of sale, Visa payWave.
