Help! Trouble Transferring QNC to TFSA at TD

It's strange.  I bought extra QNC today in my regular account planning to transfer the securities to my TFSA, but when I click on the stock symbol, QNC.CA , the Webbroker says symbol (or name) not recognized.  What gives?

Can it be that it's still freshh in my account and the settlement date is 2 days away still?

You're doing an in kind contribution?
Comment by pullsea on Jan 20, 2021 7:31pm
yes, in kind. They also call it securities transfer. I was hoping to contribute today. Tomorrow, who knows... The stock price may take off

That's great. BMO Investorline doesn't do that, you have to call in for in kind. I just moved some SCR yesterday.

I could easily be missing something here but why would you put in QNC.CA as the symbol when dealing with TD. Isn't QNC the symbol? I just looked at my TD account and it recognizes QNC but has no listing for QNC.CA

Thanks Pandora. Not a big problem anymore. When you type the basic symbol, ie QNC, or BB, etc the Webbroker completes it by inserting CA or OTC, whatever the exchange. Thanks
