Quest Rare Minerals Ltd is a Canadian exploration company developing Strange Lake rare earth deposit in northeastern Quebec, Canada. The Strange Lake REE deposit contains quantities of all the rare earth metals used in permanent magnets. The company is to become a supplier of rare earth oxides for the permanent magnet industry to be used in variety of industrial and consumer applications including wind turbines, automobiles, consumer electronics and medical equipment. Its project portfolio includes Strange Lake Rare Earth project, and Strange Lake Preliminary Economic Assessment.

Hi troufsback, are you pretty sure this is the second $5 million grant from SDTC which QRM announced this afternoon, and is not just officially confirming the initial $5 million grant announced on July 31, 2015?

In any case, it is nice to see it is now official and that QRM can start working on this pilot plant project which we are all hoping for successful results. I have been adding as well.

Good point groundhog, me also think its the same $5 million grant they announced back in July of 2015. It does not look like a newer grant of $ 5 million to me.

Yes, its good to have grant of $5 mil from govt. no doubt about it. however, don't forget how much QRM needs to invest in order to have the Becancour plant up and running. its something nearly $1.5 billion needed, grant of $ 5 million is nothing against it. what I suspect is a fluff news release, followed by share price increase, followed by a PP. if thats the case, I can see share price falling back once PP is done. just my openion.
