Vote Against

Vote AgainstIn June there was a referendum in one of the municipalities in Bulgaria that was basically pro or against a gold/silver mine. The project is near Trun (right on Tethyen Belt), very close to the Serbian border and not too far from our Zlatusha project (~50 km). This was an old producing mine and the operator that proposes the project operates the largest copper mine in Bulgaria (Asarel-Medet). People were predominantly against with >90% of the votes against the mine. The concerns were mainly ruining the nature. On the other hand DPM is progressing with its second mine in Bulgaria. So Bulgaria and countries in Eastern Europe on the Tethyen Belt can be quite tricky jurisdictions.
