Question about 2D Seismic

For those with O&G experience: How quickly will RECO collect data from 2D seismic?

Wondering if it’s a process that will mean having to wait until the process is complete, or if they’ll br gathering and able to analyze information day-to-day based on the work being carried out?

It waill take at least one month to analyse the data and choose the locations of the second well. The news vacuum is always a problem for the speculators. The traditional Sine Curve Exploration stocks - hard rock and soft takes over and takes the stock back down on its right hand side back to or to a lower than the price of the stock before the original exploration announcemnet. This would mean ...more

The 2nd site is ready for drilling. They probably already have Jarvie-1 sitting on the pad getting out back together.

2nd well is not drilling and it will be 20 days before spudding, news after 30 days. So 50 days at least  of no real news.

VeryFishy they have been clearing the spot for the second well since Decemeber.  It won't be decided based on the seismic.  Perhaps the 3rd well will, but even then maybe not.   I have now caught you either lying or being wholly ignorant of even the most basic of DD twice in the last 24 hours.  Why are you here?  Why do you continually state things that are false, but ...more

I agree the news vacuum is a period where stocks tend to settle in to a lower range but you are blatantly overlooking the fact that prior to the latest jump we had only had the potential and the "hope" of an OIl discovery.  Now we have a lot of evidence of a working OIl system.  This is likely one of the most important news releases we wil ever get on this. It is a ...more

yeah this is a good question for the O&G guys to answer. I think it will be line by line meaning when they finish a line that runs east and west for say 1 mile they will analyze and then take the north and south line and analyze. I know someone out knows. Thanks in advance

From my experience, and full disclosure I'm a drilling engineer so a reservoir engineer or geologist will have more knowledge on the subject, the 2D seismic data can be analyzed almost as soon as RECO recieves it. However, developing subsurface models is an itterative process, and constant recalibration and fine tuning is done as more wells are drilled and more siesmic is conducted. The models ...more

From RECON's most recent SEDAR MD&A filing SEISMIC OPERATIONS ReconAfrica contracted Polaris Natural Resources Inc., Canada’s longest standing seismic company, to provide acquisition services for its first 2D seismic program. Polaris has conducted over 1,000 seismic projects since 1996 and introduced the first ‘low impact seismic crew’ into Africa in 2008. This includes the patented ...more
