RE:Shell spudding Graff-2 appraisal well...(2020)
French Oil giant Total will next year spud an ultra-deepwater Venus prospect in Block 2913B wildcat off Namibia The well is situated in the Orange basin. Total’s Venus-1 well, in Namibia’s ultra-deep offshore, as one to look at; the well has the potential to be the year’s largest discovery. The ultra-deepwater wildcat will target 2 billion barrels of oil in a giant Cretaceous fan play, close to the South African maritime boundary. Birch said the prospect is a giant basin floor fan, outboard of the basin and on the edge of the ocean continental boundary, situated in 3,000metres of water. “It is probably going to be the deepest water well ever to be drilled in Africa. “It is the largest prospect ever to be drilled in Namibia, and one of the largest in Africa,” Birch said Total E&P to drill Venus.
Edit: How many years to get the infrastructure to start production?
