I have no idea what Netherland Sewell's motivations are, but this is embarrassing for them. Wild arm-waving speculation based on nothing more than a loose array of 2D seismic and some airborne gravity survey. Until they drill, they don't know if the anticlines are really there, or if they're closed, or if there are any reservoir rocks, or what characteristics those reservoir rocks may have, or if there are any hydrocarbons at all! And when did they hit on gas as the expected hydrocarbon? First it was tight oil requiring fracking (oops, not allowed), then it was conventional oil (oops, drilled three wells, that didn't work) so now it's natural gas?
Its just like their move from the Karoo Rift play (oops, didn't work) to "now we have a Demara Fold Belt play". Good luck to anyone who believes them.
