More per store

1) Closed unprofitable stores which flowed to the bottom line.

2) Renegotiated leases means that the company has a few years runway with lower occupancy costs.

3) RW&CO., Reitmans most successful banner, is offering the Thyme Maternity label this Fall.  This will generate more foot traffic and higher sales per sq ft.

In 2008 there were 73 Thyme Maternity vs 54 RW & Co. stores.  All Reitmans Banner store counts were decreasing EXPECT RW & Co. which grew.

RCL Marketplace is supposed to launch this fall.

This gives the company a couple of shots on goal.  Nice if they can put a couple of points on the scoreboard!

All great facts that reinforce that we are worth at least $3 maybe $5, but the reality is that these guys don't seem to care about market cap or shareholders and continue operating as a private company. Zero insider buying and zero actions to address market cap. I'm sitting on 200,000 shares (voting shares), and i have to keep witnessing 20 cent drops on 1,000 share trades. Disgusted with ...more

You added to your position.  So that must have been you, RBC loading up. The company is greatly undervalued and we will see a turnaround at some point AND... dividends.

Combined, our little group here probably has over 1 million voting shares.  I have close to 250,000 voting shares.

Maybe we should consider getting together and become an activist group and put some heat on the BOD

I can't imagine myself in an activist group. That is funny.  Listen, the company is doing great.  Surviving CCAA and turning the company around is nothing short of a miracle and I see a great future for this company and I'm grateful to be part of it.  This has been a life changing event for me financially.  Whatever shi*t is happening to the stock price right now ...more

How do you like that 30 cent drop on a 1,000 share trade on the voting shares. Pretty disgusting. Stephen Reitman just lost over $2M of personal net worth on a $1,500 trade.

It's pretty pathetic, isn't it?  Happens all the time and it's just an attempt to keep the price down so that whoever is behind it can load up at a lower price.  Two more weeks before the 2nd quarter numbers are out.  Many retailers are reporting spectacular results. Lets hope the same for Reitmans.

Boom! Anonymous does it again at the close. Brought it down from 1.70 to 1.55 on 1,000 shares traded. Same move as yesterday. I'm speechless at the apathy of management.

I say that we are engaged shareholders.  For my part I want: 1) Anti dilution.  Management issued themselves an excessive amount of options that are valued far below tangible book value. 2) Treat minority shareholders like owners.  eg making shareholders show up to the warehouse for the annual meeting really annoyed me.  Was only business in my portfolio that did that. & ...more

How did our warehouse look?

was not able to attend.

Yes that was me, followed by Anonymous selling and bringing it down. Frustrating to see this trading at a fraction of what it is worth. I just hope they are not purposely bringing price down for a cheap privatization
