In my experience, over the last 30 years, early stage tech companies and even mature, profitable ones issue stock options on a regular on-going basis. It is one of the reasons people work for and with early stage tech companies. Stock options have always made a significant amount of my compensation over the last 30 years and one of the reasons I worked for the companies that I did. If you don't like that practice you should invest in a different sector.
