What's the possibility that

Conoco Phillips could bid 11b for all of citgo leaving nothing for the creditors thus covering themselves jmo

Nothing would change. $11 billion would be distributed among the creditors according to the order posted earlier. The money goes to the creditors, they can't skip it.

Aston, I believe you are correct.  If COF were to buy Citgo, the money would be distributed to the Creditors currently established by the court. I always thought it would be interesting if COF were to buy Citgo even without being a Creditor. They have the money plus it adds refineries and thousands of gas stations which is what they do. Add in the fact that they'd get back about $1.5 ...more

Rockafellow, do you mean nothing will remain to creditors farer from the.front line, those who have more than 11 bn claim preceeding theirs? If so, you are rihjt . I would be exremely happy with a succesful 11-12 bn bid (would result in full payment to both RML and GRZ)..
