So much for declining LME stocks. Sigh. Must be a lot of zinc stock in unregistered warehouses. On the bright side:

But that only affects treatment charges, so I guess we need to keep hoping LME stocks decline. Might get worse before it gets better, with major commodity traders at risk of credit downgrades they may be forced to unwind trades and sell assets (such as off-LME zinc).

Let's just hope all the mine closures and the reduction in smelting capacity tip the scales into significant deficit so that refined zinc stocks worldwide, no matter where they're kept, can be drawn down to spur the price.
