RE: RE: My thesis:Muff,
I personally think, with all due respect, that you have littler grasp of the real situation here.
I stated a long time ago that neither JP nor Hamish or anyone else is in charge of the issues in Indonesia at this point other than the Governor himself. The ball is in his hands and he will play it when he sees fit. Anyone going in there to meddle or play a card that hasn't been expected , whether an ambassador or Obama and Harper together holding hands singing "Oils well that ends well" won't make a damn difference here.
I can't understand that you do not see that. Of course, I can also not understand why you believe that your "thesis" is anything else but a reflection of the many articles that you have been reading to pass the time while you wait for things to happen.
I think you need to find something else to do and relax a little. As much as I am eager to see this thing take off and events to unfold, I also am intelligent enough to understand that if anyone tries to meddle with the process at this point, it will backfire and bite us in the butt. Simple as that.
On another note...............read a little further into who Hamish is and what he has managed to do in the years he has been in Indonesia as well as trying to get a grasp of his understanding of the culture, and you will realize that what you are suggesting may actually be insulting to a certain degree. I understand that this may not be your intent, but it should be a consideration nonetheless. I doubt that Hamish is happy about having to play the role of "administrative gopher" as opposed to being in the field exploring.
Muff, in all honesty.......... you seem to be showing signs of delusion lately. I don't know what is going on with you, but you really need to lay off the funny cigarettes, man.
cheers,
vwig.
