Atlas Salt Inc. is a Canada-based junior mineral exploration company. The Company is engaged in the acquisition, evaluation, exploration and production of mineral properties in Newfoundland and Labrador. The Company owns 100% of the Great Atlantic salt deposit strategically located in western Newfoundland in the middle of the robust eastern North America road salt market. The project features a large homogeneous high-grade resource located next to a deep-water port. It also develops the Fischell’s Brook Salt Dome, which is approximately 15 kilometers (km) south of Great Atlantic in the heart of an emerging Clean Energy Hub. The Company's Flat Bay Gypsum Project is located three km southwest of Great Atlantic Salt deposit that features early-stage open-pit production from the Ace deposit. The project is located beside important infrastructure including a deep-water port, Great Atlantic positions Atlas in the middle of the eastern North America Road salt de-icing market.

State Of PA's Winter ExpenseGranted, its a pretty big state, but this is what they budgeted for winter '21-'22....Note they paid $65.70 per ton, and spent around $75 million, buying it. I'm sure with freight and or petrol up considerably, that price is long gone...

2021-2022
- $197.7 million budgeted for this winter. This is based on the average of budget spent
over the past five winters.
- PennDOT maintains nearly 40,000 miles of state-administered roadway and 25,000 
bridges, which translates to approximately 95,000 snow lane miles. Snow-lane mileage is
calculated as the miles of road multiplied by the number of lanes; which means a 1-mile 
section of four-lane roadway would equal four snow-lane miles.
Resources used during the winter include:
• About 4,700 on-the-road workers are available to drive snowplows and other equipment
• About 380 trucks and their operators will be rented to assist with snow removal operations
• 2,350 trucks, plows and salt spreaders
• 521 front-end loaders
• 68 anti-icing trucks and an estimated 150 slide-in units
• 47 snow blowers
• 496 mechanics
• over 896,000 tons of salt (2020-2021)
• over 525,000 tons of anti-skid material (2020-21)
- PennDOT pays an average of $65.70 per ton of salt, and about $22.00 per ton of anti-
skid. Department forces also manufacture their own salt brine at a cost of less than 18
cents per gallon. The department has 65 facilities capable of making salt brine.
- Each year, PennDOT estimates a budget for winter and spring maintenance activities. If 
winter operations exceed that expected budget, services will continue. PennDOT will be 
plowing and treating state roads to keep them passable when winter precipitation strikes,
