Atlas chat board has gone to hell

It always happens. When a stock does well, all the losers and lunatics infect the board. Impossible to read now. Too bad. Still long Atlas. LJ

You're absolutely correct LuckierJack2...one can set almost set their watch/ calendar/ earnings/ and watch the unreads and bashers towards SH as though it's some flashing beacon of hope. Good call.
Comment by robertwfb on Aug 10, 2022 8:12pm
when this happens I often wonder if these are indviduals who think they can talk the price down so they can buy in cheaper or maybe groups of shorters trying to influence the price. wish there was a way to know but alas it is a mystery to me.

It's a free forum so set the expectations low. Cancicle and Copperking make some good comments based on their research so I check in here now and again for those. The rest is pure entertainment.  I have a pretty large chunk now which I have accumulated over the last 12 months but I'm done and so will sit back and watch but continue to do research. For the forum my research ...more

Hi Dawg, $10 is a good price and $15-$20 is, as you say, dreamland.  Anything more is somewhat ridiiculous. Let's hope it drags Vulcan up with it.  I am very excited about the Triple Point spinout and will participate beyond what I get in a private placement.  LJ
Comment by twoponds on Aug 11, 2022 10:23am
To state it's "ridiculous" is an opinion that those that understand the logistics, the resource, the management team, the potential bidders etc., do not share with you or the "dawg"...your opinions only...yet only time will tell and there'll be a few knowledgeable in the field here who will remind you and yours from time to time afterwards... This gem will shine soon ...more

Hi Twoponds, I certainly hope you are right, but my thoughts about ridiculous are my opinion.  You are right about that. LJ
Comment by Canticle on Aug 11, 2022 11:54am
It's ridiculous based on the numbers alone. Getting to 76$ requires a bidder to be shelling out over $6 billion for the single salt mine. It doesn't matter how premiere it is, how low cost it is, how desireable it is, that's over 3 times the current market cap of the entirety of Compass Minerals. Stone Canyone didn't pay that much for Morton Salt, which came with an entire retail ...more
Comment by DeputyDawg on Aug 11, 2022 12:06pm
It's not even a salt mine. It's a salt deposit with no feasibility study. But hey, it's all about opinions and if we ever see $76 I'll eat as much humble pie as you can dish out. Or more likely pina colada's as I'll be on a private beach in the Caribbean.
Comment by Canticle on Aug 11, 2022 12:12pm
I won't complain if it hits $76, I'll be quitting my day job and retiring early. There are always black swan events in either direction that make any kind of guess subject to outlier effects, but any serious investor doesn't get emotionally attached to a stock and instead plays the odds. Back when I was in finance I always said that investing is just gambling with better odds than ...more

canticle et al, "worse than slots" is definitely true. Experienced both sides of that. I am here obviously looking for a double digit return. In since red moon. I at first had an exit over 5 but have moved that to over ten. As for triple point , not so sure the market will react much to it not because it is not a great resource play but renewable space is deeply out of favour for a while ...more

Those same pumpers are now selling the stock and driving the price down so they can buy in lower.  Thats why they attack anyone that says otherwise.   Will likely be under 3 bucks before september then back up it will go until sept 21. And then really drop after that date.
Comment by Laruch12 on Aug 11, 2022 4:09pm
that makes little sense. The fundamentals are solid. The FS is going well the new IPO will do ok probably. October should tell a lot. I put in a stink bid today at today's low, just to see if I can add few thousand more. Premise : solid market for ally. Resource is there. Atlas owns it. Low cost potential etc etc. All check off the positives. Sell after 09/21 ? Yeah if you are a day trader. I& ...more

every time you reply you back up what I just said. I havent insulted a specific user of this website I simply put "pumpers" and you and a few others go bat $hit crazy over it.  What does that tell ya! ha If I am blocked how can you quote and reply to my post. Maybe that was just a little fib now wasnt it. That 40 plus cent day has been erased.  It was created by manipulating ...more

I don't believe you saw another post I had on a different forum stating the difference between Compass and Atlas is that Compass as a whole does well and this was so when it was NAMSCO, before Compass came and bought them out.  The Goderich mine kept them profitable while their other divisions were unprofitable at the time...it was one cash-cow salt mine, with shafts, that weathered the ...more

Good luck with that. There will be liquidity issues in Triple Point shares because all shares issued to other than to current Atlas holders will be subject to a 4 month hold.
Comment by Luckierjack2 on Aug 11, 2022 11:02am
Dawg, I do lots of private placements and am used to the 4 month + 1 day hold.   I will buy more in the market too.  This is going to be a good one.  LJ
Comment by Canticle on Aug 11, 2022 11:43am
Not only are you right on the 4 month hold, there's also the face they are going to be traded on the CSE which has some pretty thin trading volumes to begin with. Triple Point is very likely going to wind up as an acquisition by a bigger player, or they'll eventually graduate to a different exchange after a partnership agreement on the salt domes. With Federal and Provincial support for ...more

Vulcan should see a boost after the AGM. Once a fair valuation on Atlas Salt after the spinout is established it will give a lot more clarity on what Vulcan's stake is actually worth. Assuming an absolute low end of $5 (which I think would be extremely conservative but what I am working with on Vulcan), their Atlas Salt stake (28,891,000 shares according to the information circular) would be ...more
