Trade war side noteSo, what we have is Canada has a free trade agreement with the EU, which is also slapping tariffs on selected US goods.
This might have benefits to Canada long term. I think Canada needs to float the idea to American manufacturers that if they want to do business in the EU they just have to make it in Canada.
Not sure what the present laws are, but factories in Canada have had duty free access to the UK, Australia, India, South Africa, much of the Caribbean through the British Preferential Tariff.
