I think we all hope for the weak hands to gain some perspective and not be so short-sighted. Those shares they sold this week will trade for >$1 next week...and shortsighted moves like that cost them 10-15% in the short term [just one week or so].
I'm not a keen trader, however, I don't think I'd let something like float size get in the way of a undervalued investment, an investment in which you believed in, after the requisite DD, or perhaps the intimate knowledge on the inner workings of the skunkworks.
I will though, put it on the things to look at [float size] moving forward, when investing.
Thank you and Good luck!
MRH I can tell you from experience that "float size" can be a huge benefit or a huge negative!
Sometimes a large float means it takes wayyyyy more shares to trade hands for the stock to move, and sometimes a small float means takes very little shares to trade hands for stock to move large % pts down....
BUT ALSO WORKS IN THE OPPOSITE FOR LONGS...
When Large Instiutional players want or try to take a position in a publicly traded company and it has a small float or when shorts try to cover from a stumbling stock that has a small float... the returns and run can be EPIC!
During the initital pandemic and drop in the markets in March, our small float, and lack of trading volume significantly hurt longs...
That said, there were a few of us with the cuhunas and confidence to pick up shares from high $0.20's to the low $0.40's who are now up 100%+ in less than two months....
Float is an important factor to look for when investing but just remember it does work both ways!
Personally I look for "SMALL FLOAT" when investing in companies especially with biotechs and stocks like Score with huge potential to explode to the upside!!!
$1.00 PLUS NEXT WEEK BABY- lets see it!
