Why we Might be looking a a $7 Million quarter
In Q3, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive sold 210,000 devices and 160,000 devices respectively, and that's before the release of the less expensive Mixed Reality headsets.
It's also Before the holiday shopping season.
And Before the massive sales that brought some headsets down to the $199 price point.
Now, call me optimistic, but if the more expensive headsets were selling aroun 200,000 units in the 3rd quarter, would it really be a stretch to think that the much less expensive headets Might just sell 250,000 units each in the busy Holiday Shopping 4th quarter?
If so, then we have to account for the price drops of the Rift and Vive as well...
So, let's just say that the five Mixed Reality headsets and the two Propietary headsets (Rift & Vive) each sold 250,000 units during the 4th quarter.
And let's just say that we only got $4 per unit for our chips instead of the $5-7 previously disclosed (to account for possible volume discounts).
Then we would have:
250,000 units X 7 Brands = 1,750,000 Total headsets sold containing S7 chips
1,750,000 units X $4 per unit = $7,000,000
Now, I realize there is a lot of speculation and guesswork here, but these are Not extravagant numbers.
It's quite possible that some, or all, of these makers sold More than 250,000 units.
It's also possible that S7 got the $5-7 pere unit they have previously mentioned.
So, all I'm saying is that we COULD be looking at a $7 Million quarter, assuming the Company books all those sales as current revenue for the quarter.
