Spectra7 FPGA's (Field Programmable Gate Arrays) FPGA's are a very specific type of computer chip that can be configured on-the-fly as needed by application. Xilinx is one of the major companies that works in that field.
It's becoming more and more clear that Spectra7, although they don't talk much about it, are quite heavily involved in FPGA's
I have seen a few tidbits of evidence that they are in fact utilizing the technology, but it's becoming more and more clear, as evidenced by the position of Derek Palmer, Spectra7's Director of Engineering, Digital Design.
Palmer used to work at Xilinx:
"...taught technical training courses on hybrid FPGA/processor systems, created white papers, wrote articles, and provided input to teams developing the next generation of FPGA based around an ARM processor." https://www.linkedin.com/in/derekwpalmer It'll be interesting to see where FPGA's lead Spectra7 in the future...
