If not, the interest and exposure generated by this new app should help drive overall demand for VR.
Will Oculus and other major VR players that use our chips be able to have this app used on their head mounted displays?

The "app" spoken of in the article is not any specific app, but rather Any app that fulfills a wish that the user might have. The point regarding Sony PSVR in the article was that it will take at least 5 years for Standalone VR to even come close to PSVR, which is arguably the weakest of the current high-end VR headsets.

What they are saying is that Standalone VR is strictly for the very Basic VR experience. It will take Many Years for wireless VR to even come close to tethered VR.

And even then Tethered VR will be so far advanced that the Standalone VR will Still be very far behind the then current Tethered VR.

All in all, the article is saying that as tethered VR will pretty much always be Way ahead of whatever wireless VR has to offer... Meaning Spectra7's VR solution will be needed for a Very long time.
